The Tractel Blocstop® BSO is an automatic fall-arrest safety device designed to provide reliable secondary protection during lifting, pulling and load-handling operations. Installed on the wire rope of a Tirfor®/Griphoist® or Tirak® hoist, the Blocstop® BSO helps protect loads in the event of hoist or wire rope failure.
When an overspeed condition is detected, the Blocstop® BSO automatically engages and locks onto the wire rope, stopping uncontrolled movement and securely holding the load. When mounted on a separate secondary safety wire rope, it provides additional protection should the primary suspension rope fail. It can also be fitted directly to a suspension or tensioned wire rope to safeguard against failure of the primary lifting or tensioning device.
Available in capacities of 680 kg, 1,000 kg, 2,000 kg and 3,000 kg (1,500–6,600 lb), the Blocstop® BSO is suitable for a wide range of industrial lifting and pulling applications.
Typical uses include hoisting systems, suspended loads and warehouse overhead doors, where the device can securely hold a door open and prevent rapid closing when overspeed conditions occur.
