The TA Series Test Plate is a calibrated shear plate used to verify the tensile resistance of structural anchorage points. Manufactured from stainless steel, each plate incorporates a defined central shear section designed to rupture at a specified load. During testing, the applied force is increased until the calibrated section fails, providing a direct visual indication that the anchorage has sustained the required test load.
The TA plate is intended for single use. When the specified rupture load (CR) is reached, failure occurs at the designated shear section (“S”). Two integral brace arms retain the test assembly after rupture, reducing movement of the connected components once the test load is released. Dedicated connection holes are provided for attachment using high-strength bow shackles. Each plate is marked with its rated rupture load and identification details, with batch and serial numbering provided for traceability and test records.
The TA Series is used in conjunction with a manually operated loading tripod and safety sling to carry out controlled proof testing of anchorage points on site. Typical applications include façade access systems, fall-arrest installations, and lifting anchor points. The calibrated rupture point provides a simple means of confirming that the required test load has been achieved, while individual plate identification supports inspection records, commissioning documentation, and periodic testing procedures.
