How many years is a chain sling good for?

Chain slings can often last longer than other types and can certainly last a very long time if properly maintained and kept in compliance, over the years worn components can be replaced, unlilke with many other types. It's handy to purchase a few additional components to save on future freight costs and wait times. With good maintenance and proper care your chain slings can easily last in excess of 10 years. *this is by no means a statement of product warranty nor do we make any guarantees as to how long a sling will last, the above is a friendly estimate only.

What are the common indications of chain sling failure?

Signs of heavy wear such as worn chain links between friction points, gouges, missing or worn identification tags, non-freely moving mechanical connections, bent or twisted links- when hanging the chains on a hook, or laying out on a table- if the legs are different lengths this suggests overload. If any form of damage is suspected the sling should be removed from use immediately. *always consult a professional rigging advisor, this is not rigging or inspection advice.

Are your chain slings adjustable?

Yes, all of our chain slings have an adjustable option you can select when purchasing, this means that we'll add grab hooks to the masterlink to enable you to adjust the length of each leg.
